Professor Yasser Wali graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University in 1984 with Honours. He was trained in Alexandria Children’s University Hospital and cleared his Masters and Doctorate Degrees in Paediatrics (MM and MD of Paediatrics) from the same university in 1994.
He gained his Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) certification in 1998 and was elected as a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH) in 2005. He has a special interest in Paediatric Haematology and Oncology and his clinical services extend to all the Arabian Gulf area in his field. He is actively involved as a trainer and examiner for the MD, Diploma of Child Health (DCH) (Glasgow), MRCPCH (UK) and examinations in the Gulf region and is highly committed towards the improvement and development of Paediatric Undergraduate and Post Graduate teaching and training programs.
He has over a 100 peer-reviewed journal publications and more than 300 abstracts and presentations in both international and local meetings in the field of Paediatric Haematology and Oncology. Currently, he serves as a Professor and the Head of the Paediatric Haematology Unit, Child Health Department in Sultan Qaboos University Hospital and the program director of the Paediatric Education Committee in Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB) responsible for training of Omani Paediatricians throughout Oman.
